Paula Lucas- Affective Needs Teacher

This is my fourth year teaching in the Affective Needs classroom at Pioneer Elementary.  I have been with the Douglas County School District for a total of six years and have enjoyed working with students of various ages, learning, and social/emotional capabilities.  I believe that children learn best when they feel secure, successful, and supported in their learning environments. My classroom focus’ on helping students learn coping strategies to handle anxiety, manage anger and behavior, as well as to develop appropriate social skills to help them navigate their environment successfully.  I look forward to working in partnership with students, parents, and teachers in order to provide the best possible educational experience for your child while they attend Pioneer Elementary.
