I’m Chelsea Haines. In my classroom, we are all about teamwork. Just like in sports, if we work
together as a team we can achieve great things! I strive to promote a classroom of
hardworking and confident learners. This will be my sixth year teaching. I attended Anderson University where I studied Elementary Education and Reading. I also have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas.
I am new to Colorado! I was born and raised in Indiana before moving out to
Colorado this past summer. I am recently engaged and my fiancé, Troy, and I are getting married at the end of March. I am so excited for the new adventures my new home will bring me.
I am an avid sports fan! I grew up going to Colts and Pacers games regularly. I
love watching Purdue basketball games and I am convinced that one of these days we
will win a championship! But the team that has most of my heart is the Dodgers. The
best part about moving to Colorado is that I will be able to go watch them play the
Rockies a few times a year!
When I am not in the classroom I can usually be found reading or running. I
discovered a love of books at a very young age. There is something so magical about
getting lost in a good book. Teaching students to love reading as much as I do is one of
the greatest joys of my life. I am also a big runner. I have run a total of five half-
marathons in both Indiana and Tennessee. I am not brave enough to commit to one in Colorado just yet!
