Dear Pioneer Parents and Community,

Welcome back!  The faculty and staff at Pioneer has been working hard all summer (well, maybe not ALL summer) in anticipation of the start of the 2019-2020 school year.  Teachers will be spending the next few weeks setting up their classrooms and attending trainings in science, math and the new State Standards.

On August 6th, we will have a meet and greet day.  This day will give students the opportunity to meet their teacher, drop off supplies, see their classroom and have their school pictures taken.  While an appointment is not necessary, we are asking that you plan to attend during specific blocks of time in order to keep the crowds to a minimum.  For students with last names beginning with A through L, please plan to attend between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00.  Students with last names beginning with M - Z can come between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00.  If the students in your family have multiple last names, feel free to come at the most convenient time.

Kindergarten orientation will be a little different.  In order to give individualized attention to our youngest students, we will have two orientation days, August 6th and 7th.  We are asking parents to sign up for a specific time.  A link to the sign up form will be sent directly to you, or you can find the link on the Pioneer website:  https://pe.dcsdk12.org/.

Please remember our school policy regarding requests for classroom assignment changes. Class assignment changes will not be made until we have an opportunity to see where we have space and the student make-up of each class.  This may take several weeks as we evaluate students and see if we have children who have moved over the summer.  If you would like to get on a waiting list for a class assignment change, please submit your request to me in writing.  Assignment changes will be made on a space-available basis.

We are terribly excited to see all our young Timberwolves.  Have a wonderful last few weeks of summer!
