Administration & Leadership

Gina Landis, Principal
Starting her fifth year as Principal of Pioneer Elementary, Gina Landis is proud and honored to lead the school community. Before stepping into the principal role, she served as Assistant Principal at Eagle Ridge Elementary for six years. Gina brings broad experience to Pioneer—having taught at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels, as well as working as a district Curriculum Coordinator. She even traveled to Finland to study their educational system and has taught classes on bringing Finnish practices to schools in the U.S.
Gina is especially proud of the legacy Pioneer is building—a blend of rigorous academics, memorable experiences for students like field trips at each grade level, and meaningful community events that connect students and families. But what excites her most are the relationships she builds with staff, families, and, most importantly, students.
Outside of school, Gina enjoys time with her husband of over thirty years and their three grown children—all proud Douglas County graduates. She also loves spending time with extended family, friends, and her church community. A Colorado native, Gina takes full advantage of every season—skiing, hiking, and traveling. And as a true Bertagnolli at heart, nothing makes her happier than cooking for family and friends.

Matthew Yardley, Assistant Principal
I'm honored to be entering my third year as the Assistant Principal at Pioneer Elementary. Prior to joining this incredible community, I served as a high school assistant principal in North Mississippi. My leadership philosophy is simple: relationships come first! I believe that building strong, meaningful connections with students, staff, and families creates the foundation for a safe, inclusive, and impactful learning environment.
My family and I moved to Parker in June of 2023 and we’re so grateful to now call Colorado our home! My wife, Shelby, and I have been married since 2013 , and we’re the proud parents of three boys—Knox, a student at Cimmaron Middle School; Rowan, a third grader at Pioneer with me; and Brody, our youngest, who just turned three. As a family, we love spending time outdoors and going on new adventures together.
I'm excited to continue growing with the Pioneer community and look forward to partnering to help our students thrive.

Sierra Weil, Instructional Coach
I am so excited and honored to be entering my third year as the Instructional Coach at Pioneer Elementary! I believe deeply in supporting the whole child and am committed to empowering every staff member in our school community. With years of experience and a heart for collaboration, I’m always looking for ways we can grow together and do what’s best for kids.
I’m a lifelong learner who constantly seeks opportunities to improve and expand my practice. Outside of school, I share life with my two amazing kids: Jaden (20), Adysen (16). I love spending time in nature, especially camping and paddle boarding, but nothing brings me more joy than being with my family.
I’m committed to open, honest communication and building strong relationships with both staff and families. I truly believe that when we work together with trust and shared purpose, Pioneer Elementary will continue to thrive as a positive, inclusive place for all learners.
